Description
Anakin’s first Jedi lightsaber — the cleaner, more elegant design from Attack of the Clones. This is the weapon Anakin built himself as a Padawan, before the Clone Wars scarred both him and his blade. The EP2 hilt shares an almost identical silhouette with Vader’s future Sith saber — same shape, different emitter color. Two tiers from SNV4 Pro with Bluetooth to Proffie V2.2.
- Anakin’s original Jedi saber — built after his Padawan training, destroyed on Geonosis
- Cleaner, more elegant hilt — less battle-worn than the EP3 version
- Same hilt shape as Vader’s future saber — the EP2 emitter is chrome, Vader’s would be black

Which Version Should You Get?
S-RGB ($346-$380) — Budget Anakin. LED in the hilt, heavy dueling rated. Blue default, switchable on Bluetooth. Cheapest way to own Anakin’s first Jedi weapon.
SNV4 Pro ($438-$500) — The recommended pick. Neopixel scrolling ignition, Bluetooth app, 27 fonts. The blue blade scrolls to life like the Geonosis arena scene. For display, cosplay, and light sparring.
Proffie V2.2 ($504-$564) — Full customization. Design your own blue blade styles. No Bluetooth — USB and SD card config. For the tinkerer.
EP2 vs EP3: What’s the Difference?
Anakin had two blue lightsabers during the prequel era. The EP2 is his first — built as a Padawan, destroyed on Geonosis (sliced in half by a factory machine). He borrowed a green saber from Jedi Nicanas Tassu just to finish the battle. The EP3 is the replacement he built after Geonosis — more battle-worn, with a distinct forked “bunny ears” emitter and ridged grips suited for his aggressive Form V style.
The EP2 hilt has an interesting design connection: its silhouette is virtually identical to Darth Vader’s Sith lightsaber. The only difference is the emitter shroud color — chrome on Anakin’s, black on Vader’s. If you’re collecting the Anakin-to-Vader transformation, the EP2 hilt is the bridge.
Who Is This For?
Get the Anakin EP2 if:
- You want Anakin’s first lightsaber. Not the battle-scarred EP3 version. Not the one Luke inherited. The original — built by a Padawan who hadn’t fallen yet.
- You appreciate the Vader connection. The EP2 hilt shape is the same as Vader’s future saber. Same silhouette, opposite side of the Force. It’s Anakin’s weapon before Mustafar took everything.
- You want a clean finish over battle weathering. The EP2 is polished, not worn. It looks newer because it was newer. Anakin hadn’t spent three years fighting a war with it yet.
Skip this saber if:
- You want the one Luke inherited. That’s the EP3 version — the iconic Graflex-style “Skywalker lightsaber” passed through three generations. This is Anakin’s first saber, destroyed two years before Luke was born.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Is this the same lightsaber Luke uses in A New Hope?
A: No. Luke’s saber is Anakin’s EP3 replacement — the classic Graflex “Skywalker lightsaber.” The EP2 was Anakin’s first blade, destroyed on Geonosis when a factory machine sliced it in half. He built the EP3 as its replacement.
Q2: Why does the EP2 hilt look like Vader’s saber?
A: Same silhouette, different emitter color. Anakin’s EP2 hilt shape is virtually identical to Vader’s Sith saber. When he built it as a Padawan, he couldn’t have known. The design similarity is one of the most interesting visual details in prop history.
Q3: What happened to the EP2 saber?
A: Destroyed on Geonosis. Sliced in half by heavy machinery during the droid factory rescue. Anakin borrowed a green lightsaber from Jedi Nicanas Tassu to finish the battle. He built the EP3 as its replacement.
Q4: Which version should I get?
A: SNV4 Pro for most — Neopixel with Bluetooth, 27 fonts. S-RGB for heavy dueling. Proffie V2.2 for full customization.
Q5: Does it come in any color other than blue?
A: Default is Anakin’s Jedi blue. All electronics tiers let you switch to any color — including the green saber he borrowed from Nicanas Tassu on Geonosis.
